Paris Saint-Germain suffered a humiliating defeat in their first pre-season match of the season, losing 3-0 to Majorque. Based on the island of Majorca and recently relegated to Liga 2, Majorque demonstrated strong defensive play and took advantage of Paris Saint-Germain's errors to secure victory.

Despite missing their international players, Paris Saint-Germain failed to deliver a convincing performance. The Trophée amical de la commune de Palma de Majorque was not enough for the Luis Enrique-coached team to showcase their prowess, particularly in defense.
For his first appearance, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia ignited the hopes of Paris Saint-Germain supporters early on. However, Arnau Tenas, a former Paris Saint-Germain player, asserted himself as the master in his box. As the match balanced out in the first half, Ibrahim Mbaye narrowly missed the target (19th minute), then failed to score.
On Majorque's first opportunity, Zito Luvumbo opened the scoring for Majorque in the 21st minute after a Jan Virgili assist. The former Olympique Marseille player then scored himself just before halftime (40th minute) by capitalizing on a Paris Saint-Germain back pass initiated by Sergi Darder, who was previously with Olympique Lyonnais.
Lucas Chevalier did not fare any better than his teammate. Less than ten minutes after the restart of play, Antonio Raillo delivered the final blow to Paris Saint-Germain's defense by outpacing Kvara in an aerial duel (51st minute). Luis Enrique’s substitutions at halftime failed to change the match scenario. The Parisians never managed to turn the tide against Majorque's defense and ultimately lost their first trophy since the Club World Cup in summer 2025.
This defeat serves as a reminder to Paris Saint-Germain fans that they should not underestimate their opponents, even in friendly matches.
