Paris Saint-Germain is currently in negotiations to sign Mika Godts, the Belgian winger from Ajax Amsterdam. The club aims to bolster its squad with this player after winning the UEFA Champions League twice consecutively.
According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', Godts has negotiated the terms of his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain and an agreement seems to have been reached. Despite Ajax's efforts to retain him, the club is aware that if the French side reaches a certain financial target (60 million euros), nothing will stop the deal from going through.
Ajax's sports director Jordi Cruyff expressed on Saturday his wish for Godts to stay an extra season in Amsterdam as they 'need him'. However, local media reported Sunday that there is almost no agreement between the player and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Dutch newspaper 'De Telegraaf' indicates that Ajax will likely give its consent because 60 million euros represent a significant sum. If both clubs reach an agreement, Godts would sign a contract until mid-2031 or 2032 at the Parc des Princes.
Mika Godts' agent, Nills de Jonck, stated: 'We will find a solution.'
